Teacher Spotlight: Frau Baird
February 4, 2016
Q: If you could be stuck on a deserted island with one other teacher, who would it be and why?
A: Mr. Z, because he’s got the muscles to build the hut, make the fire, go into the water to catch the fish, kill the animals, and he’s probably a fast runner. I can’t do any of that because I’m too old. I would also pick Mr. Z so that we could have intelligent conversations about the world. But if I couldn’t take Mr. Z, a close second pick would be Mr. Sabram because he has the humor and would keep me positive and laughing.
(Ed. note: Humor is subjective and there is no accounting for taste.)
A: If you were to win the lottery, what would you do with the money?
Q: First of all, I never play the lottery because I am not a gambler. Like why would you do that? But if I had to and if I ended up in the pool of winners, then I would give some of the money to all of the exchange programs at the High School. And then I would also set up some sort of really cool international foundation. After I did all of that, I would buy my best friends bicycles so that we could all go biking around the world together.
Q: You were picked to represent the Upper St. Clair School District in the District Hunger Games. Who would you want your partner to be?
A: Again, I think I would pick Mr. Z for his muscles.
Q: If you could pick any superpower to have, what would it be?
A: Easy. Time travel. I would pick time travel so that I could go back in time to the pioneer era in America or to Egypt thousands of years ago. But I would not wanna be one of those poor Egyptians in the streets. Instead, I would be somewhere where the people were discovering and figuring out really cool secrets of the world.
