Upper St Clair High School is famous for its wide range of clubs that students can participate in. USC has nearly a hundred different clubs for students to join. Each student can join a club that they find interesting and that they truly enjoy. The Spanish Club has been one the most well-known and loved clubs. Students in the Spanish club can learn about Spanish culture, food, and many more things relating to Spain.
Spanish Club’s first meeting was way back in October and it was a great meeting to start the new school year in. Emma Hollingsworth, one of the Spanish Club leaders, commented on the first meeting of the year, “I am really excited about this new school year and what the club will be able to offer. We are planning many fun activities and we are excited for more people to join!” Although the first meeting was just a fun, get to know each other for any new members, it was a great way to meet new people and start the school year without doing any intense activities.
The club’s next meeting will be Thursday January 30th after school in room 144. The club is hoping to attract a few new members as we move into 2025.
The Spanish Club is continuing to grow! One of the problems the leaders of the club are facing is the need for more students to participate in the club. Spanish Club has always been a popular club with many different students joining and participating. Mika Ebherhardt, the main Spanish Club leader, said “I hope more people will join our club because it is a lot of fun and the more students participate the more enjoyable it will be. We will try our best to make the club a lot of fun but also a club where students can learn a lot!” As Mika said, a club is a lot more fun if more students participate and the entirety of the club committee hopes more people will join.
Spanish Club is a great club for students who are interested in Spanish culture. Students are not required to be taking a Spanish class to participate in the club, anyone is welcome to participate and come be a part of the club!
